The Murmuration Of Starlings
24-27 May 2023

You don’t have to be directly affected by dementia to see this play...but you will be after seeing it!
The Murmuration of Starlings takes a unique and unusual look at the effects of dementia from the inside out, as the unraveling confusion of The Man is the same unraveling journey that the audience are taken on. At its heart though the play is simply a love story
Imagine if it is not just our own memories and our fight to retain normal conscious thought that are mixed and scrambled, but also our own dreams. The ‘monster’ of Dementia turns our own imagination against us and we are left living the dream, but not one of our own conscious or even unconscious creation.
“People ask me is it just about dementia, as if that isn’t enough. Well, its a love story. Like all the best stories, love and relationships are at the heart of every one. This is no different. There is a sprinking of aliens; Invasion of the Body Snatchers; Starlings, of course and a journey through one man’s mind. So not ‘just’ dementia...But dementia is what it’s about!”
